A terrible accident occurs in the outskirts of the city; a van meant to transport prisoners clashes with a passenger car carrying three armed men. Arriving at the scene of the crime, detectives discover that there were no survivors with the exception of Vadim Rogov, a former successful businessman. Convicted for the murder of his wife, Rogov disappears without a trace. The skilled detective Denis Biletskiy picks up the case together with his partner Marat Krupitsin. Pyotr, working in the Department of Drug Control, joins the investigation with info on Rogov’s wife, who, as a journalist, dug out important information on drug trafficking in the country before her death. Consequently, Pyotr also has suspicions that Rogov is being targeted, and the accident was most likely a failed attempt of assassination. Denis’ former wife Albina, a forensic expert, concludes that the cause of the accident was the murder of the van driver. Hence, someone had helped Rogov escape. Meanwhile, a flurry of activity roams the city. A mysterious customer calls in for a new back-up team of assassins to follow the law enforcement agencies in search of Rogov.
